Emergency relief supplies provided by the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) for flood damage in northern Afghanistan have been handed over to the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC).
Emergency relief supplies for Afghanistan arrived in Kabul on May 18. On May 20, at 9:00 a.m. (local time), a handover ceremony was held at the Japanese Embassy in Kabul, attended by Mr. Takuya Tanimoto, Japanese Charge d’Affaires to Afghanistan, and Mr. Vinko Lazarevski, IFRC Deputy Country Representative, in attendance.
The tents, blankets, sleeping pads, water purifiers, polyethylene tanks, and plastic sheeting will be delivered to the victims by the IFRC and the Afghan Red Crescent Society.
