Mishima Skywalk (313 Sasahara Shinden, Mishima City, Shizuoka Prefecture), operated by Fujikoh, will hold the “Hydrangea Festival” with 13,000 hydrangea of 205 varieties in full bloom. The period is from June 8 to July 15.
The original varieties of hydrangeas, such as “Skywalk,” “Haoh,” and “Summer Sky,” which can only be seen here, are at their best in the rainy season on the forest walking path that stretches across the grounds of the Mishima Skywalk, the longest pedestrian suspension bridge in Japan at 400 meters in length.
During the period, limited menu items such as “Fluffy Hydrangea Soda,” “Blue Butter Sandwich,” and “Raindrop Chocolate Churros,” all of which are inspired by blue and purple flowers, will be available. On the nine-day weekend, the event will also be illuminated at night to create a fantastic scene.
