New Hiroshima Station Building to be Named “MINAMORE. Named with the participation of prefectural residents from the words “water surface,” “everyone,” and “more.

JR West announced that the station building scheduled to open at Hiroshima Station in the spring of 2025 will be named “minamoa.

The name was chosen by Chugoku SC Kaihatsu, the operator of the station building, based on three key words: minamo (water surface), mina (everyone), and moa (more, more). Minamo” refers to the shimmer and sparkle of Hiroshima’s rivers and sea, “Mina” refers to the intention to make local people feel that the station building is for everyone, and “more” refers to the desire to make the station a place where “more” people gather, a place that enriches people’s lives, a place that evolves into a wonderful place, and a place that makes people “more” fond of Hiroshima. The “moi” represents the desire to make Hiroshima a place where “more” people can gather, enrich their lives, and evolve into a wonderful place.

The name was chosen after workshops attended by Hiroshima residents and discussions with local novelist Yukihisa Inada and musician Kazuya Kato, and a logo design featuring a local designer will be unveiled in June.
