Casio Computer Co., Ltd. will release the OCW-S7000BV on June 14 as a commemorative model for the 20th anniversary of its OCEANUS analog radio-controlled solar watch. The number of units sold will be limited to 1,200 worldwide.
The design is based on the color blue, and its motif is the azure ocean, which is compared to the “voyage” of OCEANUS’ history of pursuing the expression of its brand color, blue.
The sapphire glass bezel has a 20-sided cut that represents the brand’s 20-year history. The gradation deposition, which changes from blue to black, is said to change the color tone depending on the angle of view, just like the waves that sway in the air. The dial is made of blue white butterfly shell. In order to highlight the pattern, the company dared to use the highly mottled parts of the white-lipped shell to express the shimmer of the sea.
The OCW-T6000BV, also a 20th anniversary model, will be released on June 14. The bezel is cut on 12 sides. The light blue color on the bezel is said to represent the ocean reflecting sunlight.
Both models, the OCW-S7000BV and OCW-T6000BV, have the words “OCEANUS 20th Anniversary” engraved on the titanium back cover.
