ASICS Corporation, Nippon Television Network Corporation, and R.B.’s will hold a new walking event, “Sunrise to Sunset Walk,” a 42.195 km walk around Tokyo, on November 9. In conjunction with this event, entry for participation began today, May 28, on the application website.
On the day of the tour, participants will start in sequence at 6:00 a.m. from “SHIBUYA SKY,” an observation facility located 229 meters above Shibuya. After taking in the sunrise (around 6:11 a.m.), the tour will travel to Harajuku, Akihabara, Asakusa, and other locations before reaching the goal at Kirana Garden Toyosu, which offers a spectacular view of Tokyo Bay.
There will be two aid stations on the course, as well as spaces for resting, eating, and drinking, and “quests” to make the long, full-marathon route more enjoyable. There is also a half-marathon course of 21.0975 km that anyone can easily participate in.
After finishing at Kirana Garden Toyosu, where the sun sets, participants can attend an after-party with music, drinks, and food prepared to celebrate their accomplishment (from 3:00 to 9:00 p.m.). In addition, the production of original goods, SNS photo contests, tours in cooperation with accommodation facilities, and other events are planned, which will be announced on the event’s official website as they become available.
