JR Kyushu has announced the full-scale introduction of the “Kyushu Net Early Special 7,” an Internet-only discount ticket for the Kyushu Shinkansen between Hakata and Kumamoto that has been available since March, as a result of a demonstration experiment applying a variable price system.
The current demonstration experiment covers rides through June 30, but with the full-scale introduction of the system, rides on and after July 1 (sales will begin on June 1) will also be subject to the variable price system.
Fares will range from 3,400 yen to 4,200 yen for adults and 1,700 yen to 2,100 yen for children, depending on the reservation status. Compared to the regular fare (5230 yen for adults and 2610 yen for children), the fare is 1030 yen to 1830 yen less for adults and 510 yen to 910 yen less for children.
