Citizen Watch will sequentially release limited edition models commemorating the 35th anniversary of the Citizen Promaster brand in the land, sea, and air categories, respectively.
The first watch from the nautical category, the Mechanical Diver 200m 35th Anniversary Limited Edition (NB6026-56L) will be released on June 6, 2012. It will be priced at 143,000 yen and limited to 4,500 pieces worldwide.
The design of the “Challenge Diver,” nicknamed “Barnacle Diver” because it was covered in barnacles but kept moving, was inherited and inspired by Long Reef Beach in Australia, where the barnacle diver was discovered.
The dial and bezel are partly blue, and the aluminum ring on the bezel is black, creating a crisp design while evoking the image of the blue sea and white sandy beach. The case and band are coated with “DuraTect Platinum,” a surface hardening treatment, and the 35th anniversary limited edition logo is engraved on the back cover.
In order to reduce the impact of magnetic fields from smartphones and tablets on the watch system, the movement has been strengthened to achieve an average daily difference of -10 to +20 seconds and a duration of approximately 42 hours.
In addition, after the summer of 2024, the “Eco-Drive Radio-controlled Watch 35th Anniversary Limited Edition” (121,000 yen) from the Sky Series and the “Eco-Drive Combination Watch 35th Anniversary Limited Edition” (154,000 yen) from the Land Series are scheduled to go on sale.
