JAL’s exclusive “Single Malt Japanese Whiskey Sakurao” sold onboard international flights through advance order service, 25,000 yen per bottle

Posted on 2024-05-312024-07-06 by Editor in Chief

JAL will sell 147 limited bottles of “Single Malt Japanese Whiskey Sakurao JAL Limited Cask No. 5145” produced by a distillery in Hiroshima Prefecture through JAL’s international in-flight sales “advance order service” which will be renewed in June.

This is the second in a series of efforts to create opportunities for travel and encounters through the sale of Japanese craft whiskey produced by small distilleries around Japan, and this time it is a JAL exclusive product carefully brewed in Hiroshima, surrounded by the calm Seto Inland Sea and the Chugoku Mountains by Sakurao Brewery and Distillery, established in 1918. This time, it is a JAL exclusive. It is made from 100% domestic malt and bottled at cask strength from a single barrel that has been aged for five years in a cellar in Sakurao.

The price is 25,000 yen per bottle (maximum of one bottle per person) for first and business class passengers on flights departing from Japan between June 5 and July 31, and pre-orders will be accepted from June 2, and the product will be delivered after payment on board the flight (cannot be carried on board connecting flights).

The “Advance Order Service,” which handles certain products for in-flight sales on international flights, was previously available only to JMB Diamond and JGC Premier members, but from June 1, it will be available to all passengers who can confirm their reservations via the Web (eligibility and routes vary depending on the product). The service is available from the 25th of the month prior to the boarding date until 72 hours prior to departure (all times are local).
