Jetstar restructures fares for optional set of options, including change of checked baggage weight. Former “Chakkari Plus” fare includes additional change fee.

Jetstar Japan has renewed its fare types for option sets. The new fares will apply from today’s bookings, and those booked before June 3 will be available at the current fare at the time of booking, but the fare rules will apply to the renewed fares.

The former “Chatter Plus” will become “Starter Plus” and the service content will be revised without changing the name of the fare in the regulations. The baggage allowance for Jetstar Japan’s domestic flights used to be 10 kg, but after the change, the baggage allowance will be 20 kg, the same as for flights operated by other airlines. However, a fee will be charged for date and time changes, and flight benefits will be 500 yen worth of in-flight vouchers for domestic flights in Japan, and meals and drinks for international flights.

The former “Flex Biz” will become “Flex” and the fare name will change from “Starter FlexiBiz” to “Starter Flex”. New voucher and frequent flyer flight benefits will be added, while carry-on baggage will be 7kg instead of the previous 14kg. Services such as no-fee rebooking, same-day flight rescheduling, voucher refunds in the event of cancellation, and standard or upfront seat selection will continue.

The former “Firm Max” will become “Flex Plus” and the fare name will change from “Starter Max” to “Starter Flex Plus”. The same no-fee change to a same-day flight as “Flex” will be possible, but checked baggage will be reduced from 30kg to 20kg. In-flight service will be the same as “Starter Plus” with the addition of in-flight vouchers or meals and beverages. Other services will be the same as before the change.
