Although more and more people are using SNS to gather information about their travel destinations, even in this day and age, we are still interested in the recommendations of local people. In this section, we ask people who work at lodging facilities throughout Japan to introduce points of interest at the lodging facilities where they work and their favorite sightseeing spots in the surrounding area.

For this interview, we spoke with Yuri Togawa, proprietress of Koraku Onyado Fuji Ginkkei, a lakeside inn with a spectacular view of the upside-down Fuji.

Name: Koraku Onsen Yado Fuji Ginkkei, a lakeside inn with a spectacular view of Upside Down Fuji

Location: 132 Asakawa, Fujikawaguchiko-machi, Minamitsuru-gun, Yamanashi

–Please give us an overview of the facility.

Fuji, the largest mountain in Japan, and Lake Kawaguchi, which ripples at its foot, can be enjoyed simultaneously at this ryokan, one of the few located approximately 90 minutes by car from central Tokyo. Fuji and Lake Kawaguchi, a scenic spot famous for its majestic Mt. Located on the shores of Lake Kawaguchi, guests can enjoy the rich natural scenery of the four seasons.

–What are some of the highlights or experiences that you would like to see or experience that you can’t find anywhere else?

First, the magnificent view of Mt. Fuji can be enjoyed at the top floor outdoor bath, Fujimi no Yu, depending on the timing. We also put a lot of effort into our meals, which are the most enjoyable part of the trip. We offer a menu of seasonal vegetables decorated with the gifts of the earth and time. We hope you will enjoy our chef’s signature Japanese-style kaiseki meals, which are prepared with the sole purpose of enriching and delighting your palate.

–What are your personal recommendations for nearby attractions?

The sightseeing spot I recommend is the fifth station of Mt. Fuji, which I would like to climb at least once in my life. Fuji, and you will feel closer to Mt. Fuji. It is a popular sightseeing spot with “Ko-omitake Shrine” and a variety of local souvenirs. Why not stay at our inn and enjoy the “spectacular view of Mt. Fuji from below” and “the view of Lake Kawaguchi from Mt.

–Finally, any last words for our readers?

Thanks to your support, this year marks the 55th anniversary of our inn. With the concept of “creating the inn with the most thank yous in Japan” and the slogan “for the smiles of our guests,” we will continue to help create unforgettable memories for our guests by keeping in mind that we are always there for you, never out of sight, never out of mind, and never out of mind. We look forward to welcoming you from the foot of Fuji.
