It’s a “thing” that happens when you eat out, and you impatiently calculate the total price in your head while staring at the menu. …… How about going to an all-you-can-eat restaurant? It’s easy to make a budget and order with peace of mind. I would like to introduce two restaurants I visited recently.
Han Sushi (Waikiki)
Han Sushi opened along Ala Moana Avenue in August 2023. It is located on the first floor of a condominium (building), and after major construction, new restaurants such as cafes, ice cream stores, Korean chicken and pizza restaurants, and other new restaurants have been opening in this space one after another. Among them, “Han Sushi” attracted much attention when it first opened, with a long line of customers waiting in line. As the name suggests, I thought, “Korean sushi, huh?” But it turned out to be an all-you-can-eat restaurant offering sushi, BBQ, izakaya (Japanese-style pub) menu, and more.
Although it was hard to imagine from the outside, the interior of the restaurant was stylish and spacious. Beyond the large windows, Fort de Russy Park stretches out.
The price is $28.95 per person for all-you-can-eat lunch Monday through Thursday before 3 pm. Dinner after 3:00 p.m. and all day Friday through Sunday and holidays are $38.95.
The menu was packed with nigiri, gyoza, karaage, tempura, fried oysters, kalbi, steak, udon, salads, etc. An additional $20 for premium allows for all-you-can-eat sashimi, carpaccio, some nigiri, and other premium items.
The theme of the restaurant is “high quality and low price,” and the sushi counter inside the restaurant serves sushi made with Hawaiian tuna, Hokkaido scallops, and other ingredients. I found it comfortable to order at my seat, rather than buffet style. The nigiri rice is small and the portions of a la carte dishes are small, so I thought it was nice to be able to enjoy a variety of dishes.
Drinks were extra, but there was a wide selection of alcohol, including sake, Korean shochu, and cocktails.
Overall, the cuisine is a fusion of Japan, Korea, and other Asian countries, so you can enjoy this American expression of all-you-can-eat Asian cuisine. For example, unique dishes such as sushi rolls with shrimp tempura and crab wrapped in salmon and avocado, or sashimi topped with jalapeño and gochujang are also quite good. The wide range of dishes, from meat such as bone-in ribs to udon noodles, is perfect for families, and tourists from Europe and the United States were also very interested in the food.
