Yamaha, stationary intercom service at Narita Airport that converts calls to text and automatically translates them. 19 locations in 1-3 tami

Posted on 2024-06-102024-07-06 by Editor in Chief

Yamaha Corporation introduced the first intercom service with stationary monitor terminals at Terminals 1, 2, and 3 at Narita Airport.

The terminal allows users to make voice calls to remote facility personnel by speaking while pressing the microphone button. The terminal can also be used to communicate in multiple languages through an automatic translation function. Text can also be sent via chat, making it easy to use for those who are unable to speak or have difficulty hearing voices. In addition, the stationary monitor terminal allows facility staff and users to communicate with each other in sign language through the monitor.

Narita has already introduced an intercom service called “Smartphone de intercom” (trigger board type) at 100 locations, which allows users to read QR codes on their smartphones and talk to facility personnel without using a dedicated application. The new 19 stationary terminals are now available at a total of 119 locations.

The service will be exhibited at Interop Tokyo 2024, which will be held at Makuhari Messe (2-1 Nakase, Mihama-ku, Chiba City, Chiba Prefecture) from June 12 to 14.
