Hoshino Resort will open “OMO7 Kochi by Hoshino Resort” (9-15 Kutanda, Kochi City, Kochi Prefecture), its first entry in Shikoku, on June 13.
All 113 guest rooms of eight types are equipped with Tosa washi wallpaper and Japanese cypress furniture, and in the living room, a round table and a table resembling a saachi (a bowl for serving food) are provided for gathering in a circle. Room rates (one room per night with evening breakfast) start at 53,000 yen. The “Drunken Chore Set” (4,800 yen), which includes Kochi’s local sake, snacks, and a cup of sake, will also be on sale.
The public space features a 3.6-meter-wide, 3-meter-high “neighborhood map” with information gathered by the staff themselves, introducing deep stores and recommended spots around the hotel that are not listed in guidebooks. The hotel also features the “OMO Cafe & Bar” and “OMO Dining” as well as lounges and stores.
In addition, the Tosanoyu, a large bathhouse for guests only, has a wooden carved Tosa dog at the entrance, inspired by a bandai. It is equipped with an indoor bath, an open-air bath, and a sauna with auto-laulu. Cold drinks with citrus and ginger will be available at the after-bath area.
As part of the “Go-KINJO” service, which guests can enjoy free of charge, “Vinegar Ga Kiichu, the Best Sunday Market Tour in Japan” will be held to introduce the Sunday Market, “~Eito Ko Zenkaku Wasuren De,” where you can experience Kochi’s banquet culture “Okyaku” and “~Eito Ko Zenkaku Wasuren De,” where you can experience Kochi’s banquet culture “Okyaku!
