JICA President Akihiko Tanaka met with Jacob Granit, Director General of the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency (Sida), at JICA headquarters on June 7.
At the beginning of the meeting, Director Granit expressed his gratitude for the opportunity to meet with JICA and said that he would like to take advantage of the revision of Sweden’s development cooperation implementation strategy to seek collaboration with JICA in the future.
In response, President Tanaka welcomed Secretary Sida’s first visit to JICA headquarters and expressed his hope that the two organizations would use this meeting as an opportunity to deepen their cooperative relationship as partners in co-creating together to contribute to the achievement of the SDGs and to the peace, stability, and prosperity of the international community.
In addition, Director Granitto and President Tanaka exchanged views on private sector support initiatives that contribute to development.
