On June 11, the Tourism Expo Japan Promotion Office announced that the venue for Tourism Expo Japan to be held in 2025 has been decided as Aichi Sky Expo (Aichi International Exhibition Center). The event will be held from September 25 to 28, 2025.
Mr. Hiroyuki Takahashi, Chairman of JATA (Japan Association of Travel Agents), made three points as to why the 2025 event was chosen to be held in Chubu and Hokuriku: “The so-called Golden Route, the Tokyo-Osaka-Kyoto overtourism route, has become an issue, but this area has the Ascending Dragon Road, which we believe can be a new hub for inbound tourism. We would like to contribute to the dispersion of travelers and the revitalization of the region by communicating its attractiveness to the world through the EXPO.
The second is to support Hokuriku, which is expected to be still under reconstruction next year. Third, we would like to contribute to internationalization centered on Centrair. Although there are many manufacturing companies, including Toyota, in the surrounding area, Centrair still has only a few flights. As an international gateway, we would like to enliven Centrair as a base for interactive exchange,” he explained.
Tourism Expo Japan is one of the world’s largest travel events, co-hosted by JATA, Japan Tourism Organization (JTA), and Japan National Tourism Organization (JNTO). Tourism bureaus, travel agencies, airlines, accommodation facilities, and related businesses from all over Japan and the world will gather at their respective booths to provide the latest information.
