On June 11, Uber Japan launched a service that allows users to call “Uber Taxi” at Kansai International Airport via its online car-dispatch application, Uber.
In response to the increase in the number of visitors to Japan from Kansai International Airport, the company has partnered with a local cab company to provide cab dispatch to the airport.
Cars can be reserved for dispatch from within the airport after flight arrival, and the cab stand “1) Reserved Person (South) Bus Stop” in the Terminal 1 Building can be used as the designated pick-up location.
Since the Uber app is already available in 50 languages, visitors to Japan can operate the app in their own language from selecting a destination to making a payment without having to change language settings. Furthermore, chat conversations with the driver are also translated directly on the app.
