APA Group announced that it has acquired a land for hotel development in front of Sapporo Station (Kita 8jo Nishi 4-chome, Kita-ku, Sapporo). The site is a four-minute walk from the north exit of the station and will have 318 guest rooms.
The area surrounding Sapporo Station is undergoing redevelopment in connection with the Hokkaido Shinkansen bullet train scheduled to open in 2030. As the largest station in Hokkaido, Sapporo Station is expected to increase demand from business, domestic leisure travelers, and foreign visitors to Japan, leading to the development of this project. The details of the project will be announced as soon as they are finalized.
The company also announced plans to rebuild the 54-room APA Hotel Sapporo Hosui Susukino Ekimae, which is currently in operation. The hotel will have 152 guest rooms as a result of the reconstruction work.
