In this tour, in addition to a tour of the brewery where participants can learn about the craft beer production process through their five senses, including “color,” “taste,” and “aroma,” the tour also offers a harvesting experience (limited to a certain number of people) where participants fill craft beer kegs from the beer tanks and carry them out of the brewery. The freshly-packed craft beer will be transported to the Karuizawa Hoshino area, where visitors can enjoy it in a relaxed atmosphere while feeling the nature.
The beer to be bottled this time is an unfiltered beer that is not usually distributed. The beer is not filtered to remove yeast and solids from the beer after fermentation, which is usually done in the manufacturing process, and thus the beer has a gorgeous, fruity aroma and mild mouthfeel derived from the yeast.
Visitors can also participate in the “Karuizawa Cheers to Nature” special event to be held in the Hoshino area on the same day. At the event, 11 kinds of craft beers and 10 kinds of food will be served to celebrate the 110th anniversary of the Hoshino area, allowing visitors to enjoy 110 different combinations. Other activities such as talk events and can lantern making will also be held.
