Nara Hotel to reissue 90-year-old souvenir “Fans with Taikan and Gyokudo paintings,” to be distributed and sold from July.

Nara Hotel (1096 Takahata-cho, Nara City) will reprint, distribute and sell uchiwa fans from 90 years ago.

Uchiwa fans were distributed as souvenirs to foreign visitors around 1934. The design was commissioned from two giants of Japanese painting, Taikan Yokoyama and Gyokudo Kawai, and the original painting is still on display in the dining room “Mikasa” today. This time, the hotel decided to reprint it to commemorate the 115th anniversary of the hotel’s founding.

On July 7, a gift will be given to those who follow Nara Hotel’s official TikTok or download the JR Hotel Members’ App, and in the future, the gift will be offered as a benefit for accommodation plans and sold at the hotel store. Details will be announced as soon as they are finalized.
