JR East Cross Station Development Company has announced the “Top 10 Fastest Tokyo Station Lunchboxes” ranking of the obento sold at Gransta Tokyo (1-9-1 Marunouchi, Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo), an eco-commercial facility at Tokyo Station! Tokyo Station Limited Packed Lunch Sales Ranking Top 10″ was released.

No. 1 Meat Mix Curry (Aubergine) Special curry only available at Tokyo Station from Aubergine, a European-style curry specialty restaurant that is also used as a location bento. Three kinds of meat can be tasted together: beef belly stewed for 10 hours until tender, slow-cooked pork loin, and young chicken thigh sauteed in olive oil and grilled to a golden brown. Price: 1620 yen

No.2 Gransta limited 5 kinds of inari assortment (Mame-tanuki): “Mame-tanuki”, “Wasabi”, “Gomoku”, “Anago”, and “Maguro no shigureni”, a Tokyo Station exclusive. The “Tuna no Shigureni” has a special red fried fish branded with a brick pattern. Price: 928 yen

No. 3 Gyutan Bento – Yuzu Kosho Flavor (Date-no-Gyutan Honpo) This bento allows you to easily enjoy freshly grilled gyutan, the original Sendai beef tongue. The beef tongue, which is about 1 cm thick and has a satisfyingly firm texture, is perfectly paired with the refreshing spiciness of yuzu pepper. Miyagi specialties such as beef tongue stew, shiso maki, and namban miso pickles are included as accompaniments. Price: 1920 yen

No. 4 Tsubame-style Hamburg Steak Bento (Ekiben Tsubame Grill) This bento is available only at Tokyo Station, where you can enjoy the restaurant’s most popular Tsubame-style Hamburg steak. The Hamburg steak is handmade in the restaurant’s kitchen, right from the process of grinding it into ground meat. The rice is made from Niigata Prefecture Koshihikari rice and cooked in the restaurant. Price: 1930 yen

No. 5 Fukagawa Bento (Tsukiji Kiyomura): This lunch box is visually impressive, topped with a generous portion of scallion. The asari are boiled in the restaurant every day, and after boiling, the flavor is slowly soaked in for a day to make them plump and fluffy. Price: 1,400 yen

No. 6 Salmon Harami and Ikura no Oyako-don (parent and child bowl) (tete-a-tete) A royalty-style parent and child bento in which you can enjoy grilled salmon halami in white soy sauce and salmon roe marinated in soy sauce. The rice is made from Yamagata Prefecture’s “Tsuyahime” rice and goes perfectly with the flavorful “scallion takikomi gohan” (rice cooked with scallions). Price: 1,380 yen

No. 8 Yakitori bento (Yakitori Kushikura, Oike, Kyoto) This bento includes negima skewers, tsukune skewers, and white meat skewers. You can also enjoy Kyoto’s familiar obanzai (side dishes) such as Manganji chili pepper cooked in sweet and spicy sauce, dashimaki (Japanese soup stock roll), and fu dengaku (grilled fu with awa-fu and yomogi-fu).
