Sumitomo Mitsui Card and Japan Nettata began issuing a new Visa-branded “Japan Net Card” on July 1.
The “Japan Net Card” offers free shipping and no installment fee for purchases made at Japan Net Takata. The number of installment payments has now been expanded to 60 installments.
The card is compatible with touch-sensitive payment, and the amount charged to the card can be checked via the official Japan Post app “Tsunagaru Japan Post”. 1 Japan Post point, which can be used for purchases at Japan Post for 1 yen per 1 point, is earned for every 200 yen spent on the card.
The annual fee is 3,300 yen, waived for the first year; in the second and subsequent years, the annual fee is practically waived as all points are redeemed for the full annual fee.
The supplemental insurance covers up to 50 million yen for domestic and international travel and up to 1 million yen per item for shopping insurance. In the event of loss or theft, the company provides full or partial coverage up to 60 days before the loss or theft was reported.
