Tokyo DisneySea has updated the Aquatopia attraction to a version where water pours down in torrents in time for the start of the summer program on July 2. For a limited time, visitors can enjoy a “no escape, soaking wet experience.
The attraction allows visitors to board an automated water vehicle and move through a maze-like course dotted with whirlpools, geysers, and waterfalls with unpredictable movements. The attraction is fun with a variety of movements, such as spinning and backing up, but for summer only, a spot where water sprays out and a gimmick where water pours down has been added. The relentless spray of water makes this a very popular summer tradition.
The author also experienced it this time, and was instantly drenched by the vigorous spray of water. I felt the need for a change of T-shirt because my entire body was completely soaked. It was fun to ride and watch the screams coming from all over the place.
After getting soaked, I changed into a summery “T-shirt” (140cm-LL, 2,600-2,900 yen). I recommend this because it is more comfortable than natural drying, and it also makes you feel more like Disney in the summer.
This retro-inspired piece with Minnie Mouse and Mickey Mouse on it is a must-have to remember your stay in the park. It comes in a variety of sizes, so you can easily coordinate with family, couples, and friends to get matching ones, so let’s get it!
Programs using mist are also held in the surrounding area. Cast members will deliver coolness with a mist fan in hand, so be sure to talk to them when you see them!
