Tokyo Disneyland will close Buzz Lightyear’s Astro Blaster attraction on October 31, and a new event, Buzz Lightyear’s Astro Blaster “Complete the Mission! ” starting on July 2!
We were one of the first to experience a part of it, and here is a report on how it went.
Buzz Lightyear’s Astro Blaster” is an attraction in which visitors board the XP-38 Space Cruiser with Buzz Lightyear, the Space Ranger, on a mission to destroy the ambitions of the evil Lord Zerg.
With the Astro Blaster, a light ray gun, in hand, players compete for points while aiming at targets such as robot units and secret weapons that attack them in the toy world. Visitors can enjoy themselves with a mission to protect the peace of the universe by retrieving stolen batteries and rescuing their friends in a pinch. This year marks the 20th anniversary of the opening of the park.
This event will be divided into two phases, the first and second. In the first phase, from July 2 to September 18, a special version of the high-scoring “Astro Hero Time! will return for the first time in two years. There will be high-score targets in various areas visited during the mission, and it will be easier than usual to aim for the highest score +999,999 points and the highest rank of “Astro Hero” of Space Ranger.
I also participated in this mission, and the result was “Astro Hero” with about 999,999 points and level 7. Since I am usually at level 5 or 6, this is a considerable increase in points! It was also confirmed that my skills as a space ranger have not slowed down.
I felt that aiming from the sighting area at the top of the blaster and pressing the trigger in rhythm with the center of the target would result in a higher score. I also felt that once I hit the target, I could score even more points by continuing to pull the trigger. Of course, it is also important to use the joystick to change the direction of the cruiser as needed.
Around the monolith, a Fastpass ticket issuing machine was also unveiled and became a popular photo spot. The ticketing machine, which resembles a red toy robot, is very cute. Many people may remember the glowing eyes of the robot when it issues tickets.
The second phase is scheduled for September 19-October 31. Some popcorn wagons in the park will offer a limited number of regular boxes with limited designs. Limited original stickers will also be distributed regardless of whether or not visitors use the attractions.
In addition, five types of special merchandise will also be available, and limited design “free tickets” will be available on the Disney Resort Line from July 2. Let’s enjoy “Buzz Lightyear’s Astro Blaster” for the final mission!
