Izu Hakone Railway to accept credit card touch payment at all Sunzu Line stations. Exclusive ticket gate machines will be installed by the end of fiscal year.

Izu Hakone Railway has announced that it will introduce a credit card touch-payment boarding service at each station on the Sunzu Line (between Mishima and Shuzenji Stations). The service is scheduled to begin within FY2024, with more details to be announced in the future.

Passengers can enter and exit the ticket gate by touching their touch-sensitive card or smartphone to the dedicated ticket gate. At the time of service launch, six brands are available: Visa, JCB, American Express, Diners Club, Discover, and UnionPay, with Mastercard to be added in due course.
