Jetstar Japan celebrates 12th anniversary at Narita, unveils new one-piece uniform to be introduced by the end of 2024

Posted on 2024-07-032024-09-04 by Editor in Chief

On July 3, Jetstar Japan held an event at Narita Airport to commemorate the 12th anniversary of its launch.

An oversized yosegaki board appeared near Counter H in Terminal 3, the venue for the event, for this day only. In addition, CAs and ground staff modeled the new uniforms that will be introduced by the end of 2024, exactly 12 years after the first domestic flight to Japan. The new uniforms were renewed to commemorate the 20th anniversary of the Jetstar Group’s launch in Japan, and a presentation of the new uniform collection was recently held in Melbourne, Australia, in February.

There have been minor changes in the past, but this is the first full model change. The new color scheme is “orange and dark blue” instead of the current “orange and black,” and expresses the mingling of the colors of the sunrise, sunset, and horizon seen from the aircraft window, as well as the easy air travel that only LCCs can offer. After the introduction of the new color scheme, approximately 5,000 staff members in Australia, New Zealand, Singapore, and Japan will wear the new uniform.

The new uniforms are no longer referred to as “women’s” or “men’s” uniforms, but are divided into three collections: the “Stella Collection” and “Horizon Collection” for CAs and ground staff, and the “Pilot Collection” for pilots. Pilot Collection” for pilots.

The Stella collection features a print featuring the star shape of the jet star (Stella). Newly introduced are short-sleeved and long-sleeved blouses, a dark blue polo shirt, pants and skirts, and a one-piece dress that fits a variety of body shapes and allows for comfortable movement. The blazer is a “tangerine orange” color, symbolic of Jetstar, and has a smart-casual form. While maintaining the functionality of the business uniform, the new design further heightens the passengers’ anticipation of their leisure activities.

The Horizon Collection, on the other hand, features a modern classic dark blue blazer with a linen texture, a short-sleeved shirt, a long-sleeved shirt, and a polo shirt with a single orange point, and two types of pants (classic fit and slim fit) to choose from. Both collections are said to be devised to make it easier for the staff members who wear them to freely combine the items themselves and work in the most appropriate style.

At the event, those who wrote a message to Jetstar were presented with a rainbow pencil, a special souvenir of the 12 years of Jetstar’s service, featuring the paint scheme of the Airbus A321LR aircraft. Jetta, the mascot of Jetstar, also came to the event in his new uniform to participate in photo sessions and take commemorative photos with airport customers. The date of introduction of the new uniform will be announced at a later date.
