OpenStreet launched “HELLO CYCLING,” a shared cycle service, in Fukaya City, Saitama Prefecture, on July 2. The station is located in the parking lot on the east side of Fukaya Station.
From the same day to July 31, a campaign using HELLO CYCLING, “Commemorative New Banknote Issuance! A stamp rally using HELLO CYCLING to ride bicycles to places related to Shibusawa Eiichi” will be held from the same day to July 31, with the cooperation of Saitama Resona Bank.
Eiichi Shibusawa, the father of the modern Japanese economy and the face of the new 10,000 yen bill, was born in Fukaya City. In the stamp rally, visitors can rent electrically power assisted bicycles and other bicycles at stations and visit seven designated points (marked by flags on the app map), including the former Shibusawa residence “Nakakanchi,” the Shibusawa Eiichi Memorial Museum, and the Seinodo, a national important cultural property.
For every successful check-in at one location, a 100 yen ride coupon for HELLO CYCLING will be given away. In addition, 24 winners will be selected by drawing from among those who check-in at all seven locations and spend 500 yen or more on HELLO CYCLING during the period, and will receive a 10,000 yen ride coupon.
The station vehicles to be installed in the east parking lot of Fukaya Station will also include a lineup of electrically power assisted bicycles with a dress guard specially made for Eiichi Shibusawa.
The fee for electric bicycles is 130 yen for 30 minutes (100 yen for each additional 15 minutes), or 1,800 yen for 12 hours. Electric bicycles cost 200 yen for 15 minutes, or 4,000 yen for 12 hours.
