MICS is a program that supports a wide range of stakeholders in industry, government, and academia in Japan and Mongolia to bring together technologies, ideas, and funds to co-create innovative solutions and work together to achieve the SDGs, starting in 2023.

This year’s event in Mongolia received pre-registration from 200 organizations from both Japan and Mongolia, including start-ups, companies, educational and research institutions, and NGOs, and was attended by 200 visitors as well as many people online. On the day of the event, 42 organizations and individuals exhibited booths at the venue, and 64 organizations and individuals, including booth exhibitors, presented their own initiatives and proposals for solving social issues at the venue and online. Afterwards, booth exhibitors, online participants, and visitors discussed co-creation of innovative solutions and collaboration for five days, and 42 collaborative project proposals were submitted by June 16 (Sunday).

The 15 collaborative project teams selected through document screening in terms of co-creation, innovation, sustainability, social impact, and potential growth will pitch their projects at the “Japan-Mongolia Open Innovation and Co-Creation Event MICS2024 in Tokyo” to be held in Japan on August 5 (Monday) (Venue: International Conference Hall, JICA Headquarters (Ichigaya)): The 15 selected collaborative project teams will make a pitch at the “Japan-Mongolia Open Innovation and Co-Creation Event MICS2024 in Tokyo” (Venue: International Conference Hall, JICA Headquarters (Ichigaya)) on August 5 (Mon.), where they will engage in matching and networking with Japanese participants.
