Marugame City in Kagawa Prefecture will hold a tourism promotion “Let’s stay on the main island of Hiroshima and visit Japanese heritage sites! Campaign” from check-in on July 20 to check-out on October 31.
Those who stay at the facilities on Marugame’s outlying islands of Honjima and Hiroshima, visit two or more of the cultural properties that constitute Japanese Heritage sites on each island, and respond to a questionnaire will receive a subsidy of 3,000 yen per person for the cost of lodging. Reservations can be made by October 27.
When making a reservation directly at an accommodation facility, inform the facility of your intention to use the campaign, apply for use using the Marugame Tourism Association’s special form (by 12:00 noon three days prior to your stay), print out the “Usage Confirmation” that you will receive via e-mail, and bring it with you on the day of your stay to receive the discount when paying at the facility.
The target accommodations are as follows. Most of the accommodations are old private homes on the island that have been renovated into guest houses. Please check each inn’s official website for information on room rates and meals provided.
