Free Canoe/Kayak Rental Starts at Kawaguchi Lakeside. Self-service, no reception required, “Camp Satomiya” overlooking Mt.

Posted on 2024-07-082024-09-04 by Editor in Chief

CAMP SATOMIYA ~Camp Satomiya~ (3951-5 Katsuyama, Fujikawaguchiko-machi, Minamitsuru-gun, Yamanashi Prefecture), a campground operated by Fuji Kanko Kaihatsu, has started a free canoe/kayak rental service for campers only.

Rentals include Canadian canoes and one-person kayaks for sharing with friends, as well as oars, paddles, and life jackets necessary for boarding. There is no complicated reception desk, and you can rent a canoe at any time for an unlimited period of time (if there is a waiting list, each canoe can be used for no more than 30 minutes). When making a reservation, visitors are required to fill in their name and the starting time of use on the reservation book and pledge form located at the racks, and confirm all precautions.

There is an exterior cold-water shower near the campground reception desk, and indoor hot-water showers in the sanitary building (separate for men and women), so you can clean your body after playing.

The facility will open on April 13, 2024 on the southern shore of Lake Kawaguchi. The lakeside area offers a view of the abundant nature of Lake Kawaguchi, and a 5-minute paddle out to the west side of the campground will provide a spectacular view of Mt. There are a total of 18 auto sites, and the facility use fee is 1,500 yen per night, with site fees starting at 2,000 yen per site on weekdays. Reservations can be made through the campsite search and reservation site Nappu (open seasonally from April 13 to November 24).
