NEXCO Central Japan will conduct a “Summer Traffic Safety Campaign” from July 10 to August 1.
With 34 fatal accidents (37 people) occurring on expressways within NEXCO Central Japan’s service area in 2023 and 7 fatal accidents (7 people) already occurring in 2024, the objective is to call for compliance with traffic rules and improved driving manners during the season of increased traffic volume.
It calls for “driving while driving,” operating a cell phone or car navigation system, responding when you see someone entering the highway incorrectly, and fastener merging in traffic jams.
During the period, traffic safety events will be held at major SA/PAs in cooperation with the police and related organizations. The locations of these events can be confirmed on the NEXCO Central Japan website in PDF format.
