MICS 2024 in Tokyo, an open innovation and co-creation event between Mongolia and Japan, will be held in Ichigaya, Tokyo, on August 5, 2024. MICS is a program that supports the co-creation of innovative solutions and collaborative efforts by a wide range of stakeholders from industry, government, and academia in Japan and Mongolia, bringing together technologies, ideas, and funds to solve social issues and achieve the SDGs.

The 15 collaborative project teams that have been screened and selected in terms of co-creation, innovation, sustainability, social impact, and potential growth will make a pitch on Monday, August 5 at JICA Headquarters (Ichigaya) and International Conference Hall, where they will be matched and networked with participants from Japan. The project team will also have the opportunity to meet and network with Japanese participants. In addition, Mr. Isao Nakamura, JICA Business Exchange Specialist at the Mongolia-Japan Human Resources Development Center, will give a lecture on “Mongolian Business Opportunities” and introduce new business opportunities and possibilities in Mongolia.

This event will be conducted with simultaneous interpretation (in Japanese), and Japanese interpreters will be assigned to each project to enable direct dialogue with each collaborative project team member.

Ten collaborative projects will be selected for continued support of activities, with pitches also to be made at the Japan-Mongolia Business Forum (tentative title) to be held in Ulaanbaatar on Monday, August 19. The selected teams will receive support from September 2024 to February 2025, including mentoring and partial subsidies for travel expenses from Japan to Mongolia. In addition, JICA and the sponsor companies will provide partial support for implementation costs for collaborative projects with excellent initiatives. Through these activities, we will promote co-creation and collaboration to solve social issues and achieve the SDGs in Mongolia and Japan.

All of us involved in Mongolia look forward to seeing you at the event.
