Name: Kimpton Shinjuku Tokyo
Location: 3-4-7 Nishi-Shinjuku, Shinjuku-ku, Tokyo
–How did you come to work at Kimpton Shinjuku Tokyo?
When I was working at the corporate office of IHG Hotels & Resorts as the Performance Manager for the F&B Group, we were planning to open the first “Kimpton Hotels & Restaurants” in Japan, and I was offered a transfer to the Operations Department as the Assistant General Manager to support the General Manager and ensure the successful opening of the “Kimpton Shinjuku Tokyo”. I was offered a transfer to the operations department as assistant general manager in order to assist the general manager and ensure the successful opening of “Kimpton Shinjuku Tokyo. My involvement in this project was special to me because my profile was a perfect match for the brand mission of Kimpton Hotels & Restaurants, which specializes in the food and beverage experience.
–What kind of hotel is it?
The Kimpton Shinjuku Tokyo is a luxury lifestyle hotel located in Nishi-Shinjuku, featuring 130 guest rooms, all-day dining, a NY-style cafe, rooftop bar, three banquet rooms and one multi-function space. The restaurant offers creative dining experiences featuring dynamic grill cuisine, and the front desk concierge desk is dedicated to enhancing guests’ stay.
We are committed to providing a “personalized experience” that is “unbelievably personal”. We offer personalized welcome amenities, concierge services, and signature Kimpton Hotels & Restaurants benefits such as Morning Kick-Start (a morning drink to start your day off right), Evening Social Hour (a time to enjoy wine and canapés with our hotel staff), and Evening Social Hour (a time to enjoy wine and canapés with our hotel staff). Kimpton Hotels & Restaurants’ signature benefits include Morning Kick-Start (a morning drink to start your day off right), Evening Social Hour (a time to enjoy wine and canapés with our staff), and even pet-friendly accommodations and dining.
–please let me know if you have any personal favorites tourist spots or restaurants in the vicinity of the hotel.
Places to enjoy sports, such as the National Stadium and baseball stadiums, are located nearby. Shinjuku at night is even more exciting, and Shinjuku Golden Gai and Omoide Yokocho, lined with stores that have been around for a long time, are places where you can get together with locals and people from overseas. Wherever you go, you will be warmly welcomed. We also recommend taking a walk and relaxing in Yoyogi Park.
–What restaurant menu do you recommend?
Our chef has a great talent especially for meat dishes. The quality of ingredients, cooking methods, and plating are all at a very high level. My personal favorite dish is the special seafood fried rice topped with salmon roe. It is based on a recipe directly from the chef’s mother, and is a very impressive experience.
–What souvenirs do you recommend?
As a wonderful memory you can take home with you, we recommend spending time relaxing in a yukata, specially designed for the Kimpton Shinjuku Tokyo, which is provided in your guest room. Simple Kimpton candles are also one of our recommended souvenirs to light up your evenings at home.
