Central Japan Exis Yamanashi Branch will reopen the entire Futaba SA (uphill) on the Chuo Expressway (E20) at 7:00 a.m. on July 17.
In addition to the coin-operated showers, laundry, and convenience store that opened earlier on March 15, a food court, souvenir shop, take-out shop, and café-bakery have newly opened. The store is decorated with motifs of Fujizakura, the flower of Yamanashi, and offers a visual experience of Yamanashi, including a precious stone painting using crystals and a bronze statue of Prince Shingen.
The food court will have a total of 128 seats. There will be four restaurants: “Menkobo” for hoto and udon noodles, “Ramen Daioh” for ramen and Chinese noodles, “Teishokutei” for rice bowls and set meals, and “Sobasho” for soba and tempura.
Hoto, a local dish of Yamanashi, uses homemade noodles made from domestic wheat and pumpkin grown in Yamanashi Prefecture. As for ramen, the restaurant offers a lineup of hearty dishes, such as Horumon Ramen with homemade noodles and braised hormone, as well as Sanma Men and Cantonese noodles. The soba corner offers soba noodles made in the restaurant and freshly fried tempura, as well as handmade rice balls made with rice produced locally in Yamanashi Prefecture.
Souvenirs include seasonal fruits from the fruit kingdom of Yamanashi, and at the time of opening, peaches will be on sale. In addition, the store will sell local and international souvenirs, including specialty products from Kai City, where Futaba SA is located, as well as the standard “Kikyo Shingenmochi” (Kikyo rice cake).
At the take-out corner, “mille mele, the world’s best apple pie”, an apple pie specialty store with its main store in Kamakura City, Kanagawa Prefecture, will be open. Also on sale will be “Kansuke deep-fried hoto,” a deep-fried homemade hoto used in the food court, and “Countryside pork buns,” made with domestic pork.
BOULANGERIE Café, a café-bakery, is a new addition to the business category in this renovation. Visitors can enjoy freshly ground coffee, limited edition “Futaba Anpan” made with domestic wheat, “Saba Sandwich” from the reissued menu, and Vietnamese “Bain Mee” at the eat-in space.
On July 17 and 18, as part of the opening campaign, the food court and café bakery will sell selected items at open price. The famous Hoto will be discounted 200 yen from its usual price of 1,200 yen to 1,000 yen, and coffee from the café bakery will be 100 yen. In addition, visitors who use the Souvenir will receive novelties and other gifts to commemorate the reopening.
