Grand Prince Hotel Osaka Bay (1-13-11 Nanko-Kita, Suminoe-ku, Osaka City) will open a “Showa Retro” night pool at its rooftop garden pool for the summer season only. The hotel will be open from July 20 to September 1, and reservations will be accepted from July 12 at 10:00 a.m. on its official website.
The hotel, which has one of the few outdoor pools in Osaka, is now open during daytime hours for hotel guests. This time, the night pool will be open to visitors so that they can enjoy a comfortable resort atmosphere on a tropical summer night.
The decorative theme is inspired by the “Showa Retro” of the 1970s, when Osaka once hosted the World Expo. Lights illuminating the surface of the pool under the night sky and neon tube illumination create an emo, nostalgic, adult atmosphere.
The poolside restaurant and bar will also sell cocktails such as melon cream soda and “Tomato Pie,” a combination of tomato liqueur and hoppy.
