Miyazu City, Kyoto Prefecture, will hold the “MIYAZU NIGIWAI FESTIVAL” on July 21 to celebrate the 70th anniversary of its municipal organization.

To celebrate this event, the Blue Impulse, a specialized team of the Air Self-Defense Force, will fly over Amanohashidate (Bunshu, Miyazu City, Kyoto Prefecture), one of the three most scenic spots in Japan. On the day of the event, the team will take off from the Komatsu Air Base of the Japan Air Self-Defense Force at around 13:15, and enter the sky over Miyazu Bay from the northeast. The display flight will last about 30 minutes, from around 13:30 to 14:00, and will feature 11 events.

The event will also feature sales of food and other products from “Kyoto of the Sea,” local entertainment and dance performances by local groups, and a performance by the Maizuru Band of the Japan Self-Defense Forces.

A pre-flight is scheduled to begin around 2:00 p.m. on July 20, the day before the exhibition flight, along approximately the same route as on the day of the exhibition flight (depending on weather and other conditions).
