Capella Hotel Group to Open First Hotel in Japan. Two brands in Kansai: “Capella Kyoto” and “Patina Osaka” to open in 2025.

NTT Urban Development and UD Hospitality Management announced that the hotels Capella Kyoto and Patina Osaka are scheduled to open in 2025. Both hotels will be operated by the Capella Hotel Group, which is entering Japan for the first time, and managed by UDHM.

Capella Kyoto (130 Komatsu-cho, Higashiyama-ku, Kyoto City, Kyoto Prefecture, and other lot numbers) will be constructed as part of the “Former Shinmichi Elementary School Site Utilization Plan,” about a four-minute walk from Gion-Shijo Station on the Keihan Main Line. The hotel will have approximately 90 guest rooms, including suites, as well as restaurants, banquet halls, and a spa, and will be the flagship hotel of the Capella Hotel Group. The Miyagawa-cho Opera House is also being reconstructed as part of this plan.

Patina Osaka (6-30 Babamachi, Chuo-ku, Osaka City, Osaka Prefecture, lot number) is part of the “Osaka-Hoenzaka Hotel Project,” the former site of the NTT West headquarters building, an eight-minute walk from the Osaka Metro Tanimachi 4-chome Station, and is the first urban hotel for Patina Hotels & Resorts, a lifestyle brand operated by the Capella Hotel Group The project will be developed as the first urban hotel of Patina Hotels & Resorts, a lifestyle brand operated by the Capella Hotel Group.

The hotel will have approximately 220 standard guest rooms of 50m2 or more, including rooms with balconies, a spa and fitness area, a sky lobby, restaurants, and a banquet hall that can accommodate MICE.

In addition, the development of the Houenzaka Kita Specific Area, which includes the hotel, is being promoted to create a green space and pedestrian space connecting Osaka Castle Park and Naniwanomiya Ato Park.
