Casio will release the EDIFICE EFS-S641TMS wristwatch, a collaboration with racing team TOM’S, on August 9. The price is 44,000 yen, and reservations will be accepted from August 1.
EFS-S641TMS is a model released to commemorate the 50th anniversary of TOM’S. The design is based on the motif of the first racing car, the “TOM’S Starlet KP47,” and features body colors of white, red, and green on the dial, leather ring, and other parts. The metal ring is drilled and tapered to reproduce the shape of the side mirrors.
The dial features an in-dial that resembles the “well wheel,” a typical TOM’S wheel, and the transparency of the dial allows solar power to be generated from the in-dial. The honeycomb pattern at 3 o’clock, which represents the front grille, has a two-layered see-through design that reveals a purple color that resembles the head cover of an engine.
