On July 22, President Tanaka met with Prime Minister Briceño of Belize at JICA headquarters.
For Prime Minister Briceño, this will be his first visit to Japan after assuming office in 2020. At the beginning of his visit, President Tanaka expressed his appreciation for JICA’s 25th anniversary of the opening of JICA’s Belize Branch Office and the start of JICA’s dispatch of cooperative members to Japan in 2025, and his understanding of JICA’s dispatch of cooperative members to Japan.
In response, Prime Minister Briseño expressed his deep appreciation for JICA’s cooperation and explained the challenges and current status in a wide range of fields, including bridges, environment, disaster prevention, and education.
He also expressed his desire to further deepen bilateral relations in the future.
