Summer Festival has started at the Disney Store! We’ve got food stall-style decorations, pinball, and a summer festival raffle that everyone gets a chance to win!

Once again this year, Disney Flagship Tokyo in Shinjuku and Tokyo Disney Resort Store in Maihama will be decorated until August 22 to create a festive atmosphere for summer nights. This time, we visited Disney Flagship Tokyo to take a look at the event.

Walt Disney Japan is holding the “Disney Store Summer Festival” at Disney Flagship Tokyo, Disney Store stores, and the official online store from July 23.

The neon lights and the mounds of sandbags make it look like a Bon Odori festival is about to begin! Food stalls are lined up to make you feel like you are at a fair!

Disney Flagship Tokyo is filled with a festive atmosphere from the entrance. Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse greeted visitors in yukata (summer kimonos) at the Bon Odori festival’s familiar yagura.

Lanterns with Mickey shapes on them sway, and fans and drums line the streets, giving visitors the feeling of being in the middle of a festival, whether they visit during the day or in the evening. The shining neon lights with an urban atmosphere are another highlight of the festival. Don’t miss it!

The stalls lined up in a row are also full of interesting things to see. Just looking at the signs for “chocolate bananas,” “goldfish scooping,” “apple candy,” and “yo-yo” is a fun way to spend an enjoyable time. In fact, there are many hidden Mickeys in conjunction with the props decorating the stalls!

For example, chocolate banana decorated flakes with a goldfish pattern. Look carefully to find them. The floor was also redecorated in a cobblestone style for this event. I felt as if I had caught a glimpse of the magic of their attention to detail to make the summer festival blend in with the store without any sense of discomfort.

In addition, at the stalls, you can try the “Summer Festival Lottery” (1,500 yen each) and “Summer Festival Smart Ball” (2,000 yen each), which are the biggest fun at the “Disney Store Summer Festival. All of them are lucky! The items lined up on the shelves are all attractive items. The items vary depending on the time of the day and the store, so it should be fun to visit each store or visit several times.

In addition to Disney-related items, this year also marks the first appearance of Marvel and Star Wars raffles. This raffle will be held only at the Disney Flagship Tokyo.

This time, I tried the “Summer Festival Smart Ball,” in which the number of balls bounced off the ball and into the hole determines the prize. The trick is to pull the bar just the right amount, and the cast members cheered us on as we played. I really want to get one of them in.

As a result, two items were entered! Unable to choose from the many items lined up, I asked a Cast Member for his recommendation. At the time of the interview, the cast member recommended a “Disney Cruise Line” mug.

In addition to the raffle, limited-edition goods to carry the summer festival spirit with you are also on sale. The lineup includes plush keychains (2,800 yen each) with MIKIMINI in a yukata, Donald Duck in a twisted hachimaki and happi coat, Baymax, and Stitch, all inspired by Japanese festivals, to liven up the hot summer season. Why not pick one up at the store?

The limited-edition “Disney Store Summer Festival” design fan will also be given away on a first-come, first-served basis. The Mickey shape apple candy style design will make you feel happy and create a cool breeze just by holding it. These will be distributed only at Disney Flagship Tokyo and Tokyo Disney Resort stores on July 27 and 28, and August 3, 4, 10, 11, 12, 17, and 18.

The Disney Store Summer Festival is a great way to get into the summer festival spirit while enjoying raffles and smart balls, and we encourage you to add it to your outing by visiting the store!
