e-no.japan is now offering pre-orders of the German-made “BE CooL” cooler bag on its Make-a-Kake website. 12L and 3L sizes are available until August 25.
The three-layer fabric roll-top design with 500D PVC tarpaulin on the outer surface to prevent outside air and water from entering, high-density EPE (foamed polyethylene) for cushioning inside, and PEVA (polyethylene vinyl acetate) for the lining protects against water damage and dirt, while also providing a cold-keeping function.
At 8:00 a.m., when the outside temperature was 33°C and the frozen PET bottle was placed in the bag, the temperature inside the bag was approximately 30°C. Approximately three hours later, when the outside temperature was 37°C, the temperature inside the bag was 0.3°C for the 12L and 2.1°C for the 3L. Ten hours after the start of the experiment, at an outside temperature of 22°C, the temperature inside the bag remained below 10°C, at 5.2°C for the 12L and 8.2°C for the 3L.
The 12L size can be carried as a backpack and has an open pocket in the front section. It measures 24 x 12 x 58 cm (W x D x H) and weighs approximately 700 g.
The 3L size can be carried either hand-held or on the shoulder; it is roomy enough to hold two 500mL plastic bottles and can carry drinks, valuables, and gadgets together. It measures 17 x 30 cm (diameter x height) and weighs approximately 350 g.
The expected general sales price for the 12L size is 14,800 yen, and the 3L size is 9,800 yen. Both are offering a 25% off early bird discount and other discounts, with the 12L priced at 11,000 yen and the 3L at 7,350 yen. Products are scheduled to ship by the end of September 2024.
