On August 1, Spring Japan held a ceremony at Narita Airport to commemorate the 10th anniversary of its service.
The airline was established in September 2012 under the former name Spring Airlines Japan, based in Narita, Japan, and has been operating mainly domestic routes and international routes between Japan and China, starting with the Narita-Hiroshima route in August 2014. In November 2021, the brand logo will be renewed and the aircraft design will also be changed. The airframe design is also being changed.
Currently, the airline operates three domestic routes (Shin-Chitose, Hiroshima, and Saga) and four international routes (Harbin, Ningbo, Pudong (Shanghai), and Tianjin), and today it will newly launch flights to Beijing and increase flights on the Pudong route (since Corona, the Nanjing, Chongqing, and Wuhan routes have been suspended).
Speaking at the ceremony, President Tatsuro Asami mentioned the new service, the increased number of flights, and the cargo aircraft that began operating at Haneda before dawn on the 1st, and said, “It is very significant that we were able to launch passenger and cargo flights on such a memorable day. In addition, today, for the first time since the company’s founding, cabin crew uniforms have been renewed and will begin to be worn. With these new uniforms, which are the result of our employees’ passion, we will continue to contribute to society by emphasizing the three values of safety, integrity, and smiles.
The company has launched a new uniform project led by a team of flight attendants, and has boldly changed its image by using a variety of dark green colors to accentuate its corporate color of yellowish green, adopting materials that emphasize functionality such as lightweight stretch and washability, and offering variations that can be worn in multiple ways by both men and women depending on the combination. The new uniforms are boldly reimagined with a variety of combinations for both men and women. Mr. Asami praised the new uniforms, saying, “The colors are more subdued, and they not only look fresh, but also express that we have entered the next stage of our development.
As for outbound demand from Japanese passengers, Mr. Asami said, “The trigger for outbound demand is 15-day visa-free travel, without which it will be difficult to stimulate demand. The resumption of visa waiver measures, which have been suspended since Corona in 2020, is the key to reviving outbound travel on China routes, and “we will also work to stimulate demand on the Japanese side while monitoring the situation.
