On August 6, Walt Disney Japan launched a jointly planned item with Kanto Tochigi Lemon, a popular local souvenir at Disney Stores.
Kanto Tochigi Lemon” is a lemon-colored dairy beverage made by adding sugar and lemon flavoring to raw milk produced in Tochigi Prefecture. It was created in Utsunomiya City shortly after World War II, and has long been popular as a local flavor. In addition to the familiar lemon illustration, this item incorporates Chip and Dale into the design, making it uniquely cute.
The lineup consists mainly of sweets. Lemon Milk Cookies” (950 yen) are lemon milk-flavored cookies made with Kanto and Tochigi lemons. The key point of the cookie is its cylindrical package, which looks like a drink can. Chip and Dale are depicted on the package and cookies.
The “Lemon Milk Potato Chips” (550 yen) are also on sale at the same time. These potato chips are made with a special kama-age method that enhances the flavor of the potato, and are cut into wave shapes that give them a delightful crunchy texture. The refreshing summery package features a design of Chip and Dale, who are of course very eager to eat.
Also available as a novelty is the “Lemon Milk Gummies” (1,500 yen), a perfect summer treat with an addictive sweet taste. The lemon flavor is also a great way to replenish salt in summer. The gummy comes with a pouch that is perfect for going out. The pouch comes with a “Kanto/Tochigi Lemon” motif and is square in shape. A carabiner and belt loop on the back allow for quick and easy carrying.
Lemon-flavored snacks of Winnie the Pooh and Stitch are also currently available at the Disney Store. You can get “Ikaten Setouchi Lemon Flavor” (1,400 yen), “[Fujiya] Country Ma’am ” (500 yen), and “[HillValley] Popcorn ” (1,000 yen), so be sure to check them out when you visit the store!
