The main Mitsukoshi store in Nihonbashi is holding “Disney THE MARKET in Nihonbashi Mitsukoshi”, a shopping event featuring approximately 6,000 Disney items, from August 7 to 19.
This year, the theme is “magic” and there will be a variety of new items from Disney, Pixar, Marvel, and Star Wars, as well as items exclusive to the event.
At the event, life-size statues of “Anna and the Snow Queen,” a movie celebrating the 10th anniversary of its release in Japan, were unveiled for the first time. Elsa and Anna are priced at 1.8 million yen each, and Olaf at 900,000 yen.
A number of limited-edition designs only available at the venue and hot-selling guesswork items will also be available. From “clear bottles” (1,760 yen) for summer outings to “tote bags” (2,420 yen) featuring Mickey as the Wizard’s apprentice from the popular work “Fantasia,” as well as Walt Disney face goods “T-shirts” (3,850 yen) are also available.
Other high-priced items include a K24 card featuring Donald Duck (220,000 yen) celebrating the 90th anniversary of his screen debut, a Steiff plush toy “ Disney Donald Duck 90th Anniversary Model” (78,100 yen), and a Kyoto kimono inspired by the movie “The Little Mermaid” called “The Little Mermaid” KIMONO Collection (kimono: 1,078,000 yen, obi: 418,000 yen), and other high-priced items.
