Tokaido and Sanyo Shinkansen trains are suspended from Shinagawa to Shizuoka Stations; earthquake intensity of 5 on the Japanese scale in western Kanagawa Prefecture before 8:00 p.m. on August 9.

The Tokaido and Sanyo Shinkansen lines have suspended operations between Shinagawa and Shizuoka Stations due to an earthquake with a maximum intensity of 5 on the Japanese scale that occurred in western Kanagawa Prefecture at around 19:57 on August 9. As of 20:03, the transmission of power has been successfully completed in the section where the outage occurred.
