Sinanen Mobility PLUS introduced 160 vehicles dedicated to the “Daichari” shared cycle program on August 1 as the first step in JTB’s Shodoshima area development project.
Shodoshima is the second largest island in the Seto Inland Sea and a tourist destination with scenic spots such as Japan’s first national park, Kankakei Gorge, and Angel Road.
With this introduction, the company aims to improve the island’s transportation environment, including public transportation, cab and rental car shortages, and traffic congestion, as well as to improve sightseeing tours.
There are 42 shared bike stations on Shodoshima, and the fee is 200 yen for every 15 minutes of use, or 2,000 yen for up to 12 hours.
