The cute retro packaging that everyone has seen at least once has been transformed into Chip & Dale, the gourmands! The fresh green, yellow, and white colors, the W lemon, and the familiar logo with the smiling faces of the two animals make these three products stand out in stores.
Walt Disney Japan is now selling items at the Disney Store in collaboration with “Kanto Tochigi Lemon,” a local Tochigi drink commonly known as “lemon milk.
The limited edition Chip and Dale packaging is cute!
Kanto Tochigi Lemon is a lemon-colored dairy beverage made by adding sugar and lemon flavoring to raw milk produced in Tochigi Prefecture. The mild taste of the milk and the soft aroma of lemon give it a nostalgic flavor. The drink, including its retro packaging, has long been popular among Tochigi residents as a local drink.
The “Lemon Milk Potato Chips” (550 yen) are a joint project with this drink. The wave-cut potato chips are crispy, chewy, and crunchy, and are made using the kama-age method.
The lemon milk is right at the back, as the flavor is claimed to be reminiscent of lemon milk. The gentle saltiness and a hint of sweetness that enhances the original flavor of the potato is irresistible. Since it is a generous 120 grams, this time I mixed it with coleslaw and put it in a hot dog bun. The crispy cabbage and crunchy potato went together better than I had imagined.
Next is the “[Lemon Milk] Gummies” (1,500 yen), which come with a nice pouch. The slightly salty lemon gummies are perfect for replenishing salt in the summer.
This time, we combined cut fruits and cider to create a fruit punch-like dessert drink. The gummy texture and the shwashiness of the fruit elevate this drink to the level of a rewarding drink. Incidentally, it was also delicious with a cup of black tea to create a fruit tea-like drink.
Check out the attached pouch for maximum cuteness! The square-shaped pouch measures 13 x 6 x 15 cm (W x D x H) and looks small but has a thick gusset. It can hold plenty of items, from care items useful for summer outings to snacks for small appetites. The thick canvas fabric, lined with a solid lining, is also a nice feature. On the back, there are belt loops and a carabiner.
The last item is the boxed “[Lemon Milk] Cookies” (950 yen). The box contains a total of eight lemon cookies, four each featuring the face prints of Chip and Dale. The cookies are made with Kanto and Tochigi lemons and have a crunchy texture, so the unique lemon milk flavor will fill your mouth from the first bite.
The recommended arrangement is a summery ear hat and Mickey shape style ice cream decoration. Hold one Chip and one Dale in each hand and insert them with the same amount of force to balance them out. The same technique can also be used to add them to shaved ice!
