On August 20, JAL announced its route flight plan for the second half of FY2024. The increased flights on domestic routes will go on sale from August 21.
On international routes, in response to strong demand for inbound flights to Japan and demand between North America and Asia, the number of flights on Southeast Asia (Jakarta-Bengaluru), Oceania (Melbourne), and East Asia (Shanghai-Pudong and Taipei-Taoyuan) routes will be increased.
In addition, the number of flights on the Guam route will be increased, extra flights will be added to the Honolulu route to coincide with the Honolulu Marathon, and a portion of the Honolulu route will be upgraded to a larger Boeing 777 aircraft during the year-end and New Year’s holidays to provide first class service.
In the fall, the new Airbus A350-1000 is scheduled to be introduced on the Haneda-London route.
On domestic routes, flights on the Itami – Miyazaki route will be increased from January to February 2025. Flights on the Kagoshima – Remote Islands route will be increased during high-demand periods as in previous years, and the number of flights on some routes to/from Okadama will be adjusted (reduced) during the severe winter season.
