JR East announced that it will newly target line 29 at 15 stations for platform door installation in FY2024, in addition to those previously announced. The reason for this is that it has become possible to secure the components.
The target stations include Ochanomizu and Chiba stations on the Chuo and Sobu Lines (local stop trains), as well as 13 stations (including some stations where platform doors have already been installed), such as the Nambu Line’s Wabegahara Station. Seven stations on the Nambu Line have already been announced to be equipped with platform doors, and together with this announcement, the majority of stations will be equipped with platform doors.
