On August 21, the Fiji Visitors Bureau launched its official Japanese-language website and released a video introducing the attractions of Fiji travel. The aim is to stimulate demand for travel from Japan.
The official website introduces information necessary for sightseeing in Fiji, including recommended spots, things to do, basic information, and accommodations.
The released video, titled “Trip to Fiji Full of Happiness,” is based on the five pillars of the Fiji experience (rich nature, adventure, community interaction, refreshment, and food) and shows travelers feeling happiness through a variety of experiences, according to the company.
The number of visitors from Japan to Fiji in the first half of 2024 was 4531, ranking seventh after the United Kingdom in terms of number of visitors by country. By month, the number of Japanese visitors in June 2024 was 844, surpassing the pre-Corona June 2019 figure of 803 for the first time since Corona.
The bureau says that Japanese visitors are becoming increasingly interested in traveling to Fiji, and that it will work to attract more Japanese tourists by opening an official Japanese-language website and releasing videos.
