CITIZEN WATCH will release a limited edition model “880 Mechanical” from its mechanical watch brand “CITIZEN Series Eight” on September 12 to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the CITIZEN brand.
The 880 Mechanical’s characteristic two-body center case combines gray and blue, and the bracelet leading from the lugless case is also color-coordinated. The dial is made of white butterfly shell with a blue gradation.
It has a GMT function and uses a 24-hour hand to display the second time zone and a double rotating bezel to check the time in a third time zone.
The minute and second hands; the main time can be changed in one-hour increments using only the hour hand without moving the 24-hour hand, making it useful for overseas travel and business trips.
In addition, the movement is equipped with Class 2 antimagnetic resistance to reduce the influence of magnetic fields from smartphones and tablets on the time accuracy, and has achieved an average daily difference of -10 to +20 seconds and a duration of approximately 50 hours.
Priced at 275,000 yen, the watch is available in a limited edition of 2,200 pieces worldwide.
